Startrails

Playing with new Canon G9 and CHDK.

1 hour of stacked 64 second exposures, dark frames disabled. Last image used as dark frame.

    how did you get them stacked. i want a similar pic. i know the 64 second exposure, but how do you continue taking the pictures and then finally, how do you stitch them all together?

    I used a CHDK script (I think it was http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/UBASIC/Scripts:_Ultra_Intervalometer ) to set exposure time and take multiple exposures.

    I then used a program called Startrails, which is designed for this sort of picture, to stack the images: http://www.startrails.de/html/software.html

    Another stacking program I would recommend is Registax: http://www.astronomie.be/registax/

    This is more for stacking pictures of the same object (Say the moon, a planet, or nebula) to increase contrast and sharpness, rather than startrails.
